Branding my Site

In week 10 we talked about branding our sites and what it means to us as content creators. After much consideration it dawned on me that audiences’ are not interested in the reality of things, but rather a glamorized reality that offers a sense of escapism. Being a content consumer myself I find solace in escaping my own reality, but at the same time it is comforting to see authentic content that normalizes the human experience. This is a theme I have been seeing on various TikTok creators’ channels, but at the same time there is still a sense of structure that adheres to audience demands.

So what does this have to do with the branding of my site? Well, taking into account the discussions I just posed, it seems that my site may not be brand-able. While I have tried so hard to not conform to conventional content creation practices, I feel an overwhelming pressure to re-establish the dimensions of the cyberspace to fit with something brand-able. That being said, until this semester is over I will continue to maintain my personal journals. Although in the future I might consider more marketable content.
